Car Rental Hawaii

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is an option that, purchased at an additional charge per day, eliminates responsibility for damage to or loss of an rental vehicle as long as terms of the rental agreement have not been violated. Collision Damage Waiver is NOT insurance.
There are several types of CDW options:
Waiver Saver 500 covers up to $500 damage or loss.
Waiver Saver 3000 covers up to $3000 damage or loss.
MaxiWaiver Saver covers any damage to or loss of the rental vehicle.
If a credit card is supplied to cover the Collision Damage Waiver costs, Alamo will authorize a deposit at the time of rental. Protection applies as long as terms of the rental agreement have not been violated.
Please refer to the Rental Agreement, rental jacket, and any underlying policies for the full terms and conditions.
Collision Damage Waiver Full ( US$ 19.99 per day*) It's really simple! If you decline CDW, you agree to pay the rental car company for all damage to or loss of the rental car up to its total value, regardless of who is at fault. You also agree to pay any rental car company administrative and loss of use charges due to the rental car company's inability to re-rent the car before it is repaired or replaced. The rental car company can also elect not to repair the car, in which case you pay us the retail value of the car before it was damaged, less any salvage amount they collect.
If you accept CDW, the Rental Car Company agrees to waive all of your responsibility for such loss or damage to the car. CDW is void only if any "Prohibited Uses and Violations" occur, as outlined in our rental agreement terms and conditions; if you leave the keys in the car and it is stolen, or if you do not promptly report an accident, damage or theft to the Rental Car Company.

Maui Car Rental Guide

Maui Car Rentals (Coches de Alquiler)

When in Maui, Hawaii, you'll want to rent a car. Public transportation is weak at best, and the island is too big to get anywhere without a car. Taxi's on Maui are available, but they can be elusive when you really need one. The bus system on Maui can be used during the day, but you'll be stuck where ever you are at night. The last stop is at 7:45 pm. Bus fare is $1 for a one way trip and you can get a pass for $25/month. Of course hitchhiking is an option, but a bit more of a hassle. It's really worth getting a car, unless you don't plan on leaving your resort area.

Hawaii car rentals vary in price and options. you can pay from less than $150/week for a simple compact economy car, or you can spend thousands a day for an exotic luxury vehicle. If you're on a budget, we recommend a fuel efficient car. Keep in mind that gasoline is far more expensive in Hawaii than on the mainland. It generally runs about 1/2 to 3/4 a dollar per gallon more than it would in California. Maui is a small island, but it's roads are often winding and long.
